Start with the listed waist and hip, then check length and inseam against trousers you own. The approximate body-waist ranges below are starting estimates only: each runs from 1 inch below the listed waist up to that waist measurement. They assume the listed waist is a garment circumference and allow 0–1 inch of room; they are not tested fit ranges or a claim of waistband stretch. How to measure these pants
- Fasten the waistband, lay the trousers flat and smooth them without stretching. Measure straight across the waistband and double it for waist circumference.
- Measure across the fullest hip area and double the width for hip circumference.
- Measure length down the outside from the top of the waistband to the hem. Measure inseam along the inner leg from crotch seam to hem; it is a separate measurement.
- For the leg opening, measure straight across one hem. Double it only when comparing with an opening circumference. Confirm the measurement basis before comparing.
